We run a very successful guide group however, we are currently trying to raise funds to get some capital behind us. This is to enable us to finish of a new Building that will be used for meetings and hopefully be of use to people within the community.
The Guides started up the recycling of the phones and ink cartridges and this has been a great fundraiser for us. We give out letters to all our parents, who kindly donate their phones and any that they can obtain through work or family members. The last amount of phones was gained through this approach and also our Chairman, Mr. David Banks, obtained a lot of phones through his company. We also find it a nice way to give back something that can help others, as where else would these items go, into your rubbish which is already a major issue within our country. We try to think a lot about the environment within our group as this encourages the children to think of others
